Our story began in 2017 at West Virginia University, where we met on the cheerleading team. What started as a friendship turned into something much deeper — BIG thanks to Amanda’s bridesmaid, Emily, convincing her to go on that first date! That Pirates game in May 2021 was where we both felt the spark and realized we were meant for something more. While the Pirates didn’t win (surprising no one—sorry, Dad!), Jake and Amanda definitely did!

From that moment on, our journeys became one shared adventure. Jake made the lengthy drive to New Jersey twice that very next month—braving nine hours on the road each time—just to be with Amanda. These long drives were just one of the many ways Jake showed his commitment and willingness to go the extra mile (literally!).

Since then, we’ve shared countless memories, from sunny boating days on Lake Norman to cozy movie nights in, and we’ve traveled to some of our favorite spots like Anna Maria Island, New York City, and Nashville. Along the way, we’ve brought out the best in each other. Amanda introduced Jake to the wonders of Target and TJ Maxx trips, and even got him to root for actual winning sports teams (Go Birds and Phils!). In return, Jake helped Amanda conquer (sort of) wakeboarding and expand her culinary horizons with sushi—an accomplishment anyone who knows Amanda would consider pretty significant!

Among our many memorable moments, one true highlight came on November 4th, 2023, when Jake proposed in Charlotte, NC. Amanda said yes to the rest of our lives together, making it the perfect moment we’ll cherish forever.

We’re so grateful for the love and support from all our family and friends. Our love has spanned from West Virginia to New Jersey, and now we can’t wait to celebrate this next chapter in our new home state of North Carolina with you!
